Turning Meditation at the Labyrinth
…Come whirl, turn, improvise or walk and join this sacred meditation
Where: The Labyrinth at St Paul’s Anglican Church with Craig Addy, piano.
Experience the labyrinth in a new way in 2018 as we create four special evenings where folks interested in turning meditation can receive optional very simple instruction (from a Sufi Whirling Dervish tradition). Turning meditators and walkers will share the labyrinth, and musical folks are invited to bring hand drums, flutes, voices, or other instruments to help our musician create atmospheric meditation music.
Friday Sep 14 7-9 pm (Musician Craig Addy piano)
Practical details… All are welcome. St. Paul’s Labyrinth is at 1130 Jervis St. near Davie St. in the West End of Vancouver. Cost: By Donation (Supports the labyrinth/ musician stipend). Please remember, no food or drink except water bottles. Bring slippers or socks for turning. (Outdoor shoes are only permitted for folks with mobility issues). Feel free to come for all or part of the time.
Experienced Semazens, can you help out? Anna Bernhardt will provide name tags to identify people who are willing to show the turning basics (quarter or half turn) mostly without words, by example with a few whispered hints as needed. If you are attending and open to being a resource, can you let me know? All meditative support for this space (whether in person or not) is much appreciated.
